VPSOs provide public safety services including the enforcement of local ordinances and state laws. Officers participate in public safety training and education and are available for emergency response to fire, medical emergencies, and search and rescue. The VPSO will work closely with the local village council and the Alaska State Troopers.

Our vision is to revitalize the traditional Chugach Native culture and language. The goal is to make Sugpiaq/ Eyak history and heritage a part of the regular school curriculum with support and direction from our Elders’ traditional ecological knowledge (TEK).
