Creates, develops, and nurtures culturally appropriate interactions and connections with each other, patients, and the community, applying customer service guidelines appropriate for the situation.
Perform basic medical procedures before and after examination including taking of vital signs, medical history up-date, performing phlebotomy, specimen collection, recording of EKG’s, dressing changes, medication and immunization administration, scheduling patient appointments and procedures, and documenting of care in health record; assisting in ensuring smooth patient flow; and assisting health care team in managing patients. Ensures availability of drug stock supply, other supplies, and equipment by completing daily inventories of various medical items and submitting supply requests for replacement. Perform equipment inventory and maintenance. Completes daily quality control testing and documentation. Conforms to Chugachmiut policies, strict employee confidentiality, and HIPAA regulations. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

The following demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires the ability to sit for long period of time. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate office equipment such as computer keyboard, photocopier, telephone and calculator. May be required to lift approximately 30 pounds. May require occasional travel to remote locations by boat, snowmobile, ATV or small plane.
Hours of Work:
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with one hour for lunch. Chugachmiut maintains a drug & alcohol free, non-smoking environment. There may be occasional travel to the villages of the region. Must be willing and able to travel in light aircraft.
