Serving the Native Communities of the Chugach Region
Coordinates and trains Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) for the region. The program maintains communication systems between communities and medical agencies such as ANMC and Southern Region EMS; maintains patient transport capabilities; provides disaster planning and implementation; and coordinates safety education in areas such as injury prevention, fire safety, CPR, First Aid, hazardous materials, bloodbourne pathogens, and water safety.
Heritage Preservation
Our vision is to revitalize the traditional Chugach Native culture and language. The goal is to make Sugpiaq/ Eyak history and heritage a part of the regular school curriculum with support and direction from our Elders’ traditional ecological knowledge (TEK).
