Through a National Science Foundation grant the Heritage Preservation Program completed a digital archive of Chugach cultural artifacts using state-of-the-art Augmented Reality technology. A team of regional elders and youth visited museums and researched databases to find Chugach artifacts currently scattered across the world. Collections were found in Washington, DC, Russia, Scandinavia, Spain and Germany. These can now be viewed and studied at the Heritage Museum Site.
In the works is a temporary traveling exhibit to bring artifacts to local communities as well as others outside the region.
